Prostatitis>Epididymis

Epididymis

Epididymis symptoms are easily confused with symptoms in testicle. Epididymis is a tiny organ attached to the testicle. Epididymis connects to the prostate by the rear vas deferens, or the sperm ducts.

Prostatitis, Epididymis

Epididymis and Prostatitis

Since the epididymis and the prostate are interconnected by the vas deferens, bacteria infection of either one could easily spread out to the other and cause infection there.

When a man is infected with prostatitis, he may not notice any symptoms in the epididymis in the early stage. However, as prostatitis gets into chronic prostatitis, the prostate infection spreads to the nearby genital organs along the vas deferens and eventually reach the epididymis.

Now, the vas deferens are enlarged, thickened, hardened and with tenderness. The epididymis is also enlarged, with cyst and tender. Since the epididymis, vas deferens and the prostate are with infection, a constant amount of waste and deposit are produced and accumulated. After a period of time, the epididymis, vas deferens and the prostate are partially or mostly clogged, obstructed. Now the man has painful ejaculation, yellow semen, reduced semen volume, groin pain and testicle pain and a bunch of other epididymal symptoms and prostate symptoms. In summary, the man is now suffering from prostatitis, epididymitis and deferentitis.

Epididymis and Enlarged Prostate

Epididymis is always affected by prostate problems such as enlarged prostate. Bacteria infection causes the prostate enlargement and finally reach the epididymis through vas deferens.

Epididymitis is the most common symptoms and complications relating to enlarged prostate. If a man suffering from enlarged prostate also has symptoms and pain in epididymis, infection in both enlarged epididymis and enlarged prostate must be taken care with specific injections to these genital organs. Leaving epididymis untreated or mistreated could seriously jeopardize the efficacy of enlarged prostate and induce relapse.

Epididymis and BPH

Epididymis is also easily affected by BPH, or benign prostatic hyperplasia, because of the proximity to the enlarged prostate. When a man is suffering from BPH, the enlarged prostate is caused by bacteria infection. The prostate infection spreads out to other organs, such as seminal vesicles, vas deferens and epididymis. If a man has epididymal symptoms and pain in additional to BPH symptoms, it indicates that the infection has reached epididymis. Antibiotics medication usually do not work because even though epididymis is completely cleared of infection, the prostate is not easy to have a complete cure, so the bacteria in the enlarged prostate spreads to the epididymis again after the BPH treatment stops. Only the epididymitis treatment of our prostate clinic can effectively and permanently cure all infection in enlarged epididymis, prostatitis and the enlarged prostate.
